Provincial-program-aligned e-waste handling.
Canadian e-waste regulation is provincial - EPRA stewardship in most provinces, OES in Ontario, RQO in Quebec. Maxicom routes residual material to recyclers registered with the relevant provincial program in the province of pickup.
What we handle.
Material categories that fall under provincial e-waste programs:
- ♦ End-of-life IT equipment that can't be remarketed.
- ♦ Failed components - power supplies, motherboards, drives, peripherals.
- ♦ Display equipment - monitors, projectors.
- ♦ Batteries from UPS systems and laptops (handled under battery-specific provincial streams).
- ♦ Cable and small-form-factor electronics from decommissioning waste.
Streamlined workflow.
Province-of-pickup determines the provincial program; documentation is matched to that program's requirements.
- 1. Province segregation · Material from each pickup is logged with province-of-origin for stewardship attribution.
- 2. Downstream routing · EPRA-registered recyclers in BC, AB, SK, MB, QC, NS, NB, NL, PE; OES in ON; RQO supplemental in QC.
- 3. Manifest · Province-stamped manifest accompanies every downstream handoff.
- 4. Receipt · Downstream-recipient receipt logged under your engagement; available for compliance file.
What you get.
- ♦ Provincial program compliance closed without you having to identify and qualify provincial recyclers.
- ♦ Documented disposition path that satisfies environmental-audit requirements.
- ♦ Single national operating model regardless of which provinces your IT is shipping from.
- ♦ ESG / Scope-3 ready reporting on request.

Maxicom Canada — frequently asked
Is Maxicom an EPRA-registered recycler?
No - and we don't claim to be. Maxicom is the ITAD prime contractor; the physical recycling step is sub-contracted to recyclers holding the relevant provincial-program stewardship.
Can you handle batteries - UPS, laptop, server-NVRAM?
Yes - under separate battery-specific provincial-program streams. Lithium batteries especially require segregated handling for fire-risk reasons.
