Maxicom Canada delivers a focused set of IT-asset-disposition services to enterprises, data centres, government, healthcare, education, and SME operators. Three core jobs: recover value from retired hardware, destroy data to NIST 800-88, and handle the logistics so your team doesn't. PIPEDA-aligned by design.

Partial-rack accepted. Most national ITAD operators reject <20-unit jobs or impose minimum-spend gates. We quote 5-unit refreshes the same day we quote whole-cage decommissions.
Two-hour written quote. Asset list in by 16:00 ET, written CAD-denominated quote out by close of business - including per-line residual estimates and proposed pickup window. Larger jobs (above C$50K indicative) get a 1-hour site survey within 24 hours.
Audit-ready paperwork by default. Per-job Certificate of Destruction, serial-level chain-of-custody log, NIST 800-88 method citation per device, downstream-recipient receipt for any residual material. PIPEDA-aligned, OSFI-aware for regulated FIs.
What we do - and don't - claim.
We say what we have. We say what we don't. No vendor-certificate inflation.
- ♦ NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 - Clear / Purge / Destroy methods, applied per the storage class.
- ♦ IEEE 2883-2022 - current storage-sanitisation standard.
- ♦ DoD 5220.22-M - legacy overwrite available on request for tender-required workflows.
- ♦ Per-job Certificate of Destruction with serial list, method citation, two-operator + witness sign-off.
- ♦ PIPEDA-aligned destruction documentation suitable for inclusion in your Schedule 1, Principle 4.7 (Safeguards) evidence file.
- ♦ OSFI B-13-aware for federally-regulated financial institutions.
- ♦ EPRA-stewarded downstream for residual material - sub-contracted to recyclers holding provincial program registration.
- ♦ External information-security-management-system attestation available on DDQ request.

Maxicom Canada — frequently asked
How fast is the buyback quote?
Within 2 working hours of receiving your asset list, we issue a written, CAD-denominated quote with per-line residual estimates. For larger engagements (over C$50K indicative), a 1-hour on-site survey within 24 hours typically follows.
Do you handle whole data-centre decommissioning AND single-laptop pickups?
Both. There's no formal minimum, though below approximately C$5,000 indicative residual the freight + handling cost starts to dominate the quote.
What destruction standards do you follow?
NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 (Clear / Purge / Destroy) and IEEE 2883-2022 are the default. DoD 5220.22-M overwrite passes are available for legacy-compatible tender requirements. SSDs and NVMe drives default to Purge via cryptographic erase; magnetic drives default to Clear or Destroy depending on the data classification; tape is destruction-only.
Are you PIPEDA-compliant?
Our destruction documentation is designed to support your obligations under PIPEDA Schedule 1, Principle 4.7 (Safeguards). The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada does not certify ITAD vendors - there is no register. What we provide is alignment, not certification.
Where do you operate?
Across Canada - direct pickup teams in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax, Hamilton, and Quebec City. Other locations via our trader-network partners with documentation routed through Toronto.
How are settlements made?
Settlement is on uplift - once we take possession of the asset, the agreed CAD value is paid to your nominated account within 5 business days of disposition completion.
