Working refurbished kit, donated to good causes.
When the customer's preference is charitable redeployment over cash recovery, Maxicom's CSR Donation Program routes working refurbished kit to vetted Canadian charities, schools, and community organisations. Data destruction discipline is identical to the buyback path; recipient organisations sign for the equipment.
What we handle.
Donation pathways:
- ♦ Charity-specified - customer nominates a charity; we vet, then route refurbished kit there.
- ♦ School-specified - public schools (K-12), community colleges, university programmes.
- ♦ Community organisation - non-profit IT-skills training programmes, community technology centres.
- ♦ Maxicom-network - let us pick from our vetted recipient list across Canada.
- ♦ Mixed donation + cash - partial donation, partial cash recovery on a per-engagement split.
Streamlined workflow.
CSR engagements run in parallel with standard disposition workflow.
- 1. Recipient selection · Customer-nominated or Maxicom-selected from vetted list; charity registration confirmed.
- 2. Standard disposition · Pickup + NIST 800-88 destruction + functional grading - identical to buyback path.
- 3. Refurbishment · Tested-working kit prepared for redeployment; OS clean; reasonable warranty included.
- 4. Delivery + receipt · Equipment delivered to recipient; recipient signs receipt; tax receipt issued where applicable.
What you get.
- ♦ Charitable donation positioning for ESG / CSR reporting.
- ♦ Defensible disposition (data destruction discipline identical to buyback path).
- ♦ Tax-receipt support where the recipient is a registered Canadian charity.
- ♦ Recipient diligence handled - vetted recipients, signed receipts.

Maxicom Canada — frequently asked
Tax receipts - what's available?
Where the recipient is a CRA-registered Canadian charity, the recipient charity issues a Canadian tax receipt to the donor for the fair-market value of the donated equipment. Maxicom facilitates the receipt-issuance process; the receipt is from the charity, not from Maxicom.
How do you vet recipients?
Charities: CRA registration check + operational due-diligence (active programmes, deployment plan for the donated kit). Schools: public-board confirmation. Community orgs: programme-evidence + reference-check.
