Storage buyback: arrays, JBODs, individual drives.
We buy back enterprise storage and individual drives. Every drive is destroyed per NIST 800-88 + IEEE 2883-2022 with per-serial wipe-log or shred batch ID before any resale. CAD-denominated quote within 2 hours.

Drives are typically more lucrative on a per-unit basis when sold separately to specialist component dealers, but the operational overhead is higher and per-drive destruction cost eats into the per-drive residual. Whole-array buyback often makes more sense above 12-bay scale.
Tape and legacy media โ LTO-6 through LTO-9, DLT, optical โ are typically destruction-only. The exception is large lots of recent LTO-9 cartridges still in their useful life, which can have residual buyback value.

Storage buyback in Canada โ frequently asked
Do you buy back individual drives or only full arrays?
Both. Drive-only buyback is fine โ minimum tier is typically 50 drives. Below that, the freight + handling logistics start to dominate the residual value.
Where do I sell used NetApp arrays in Canada?
Maxicom Canada quotes NetApp FAS, AFF, ASA full arrays and individual drives. Indicative CAD residual for NetApp AFF A300 (24ร NVMe, dual controllers): C$8,000โ18,000. NetApp FAS2750 hybrid: C$2,500โ6,000. NetApp E2860 60-bay: C$6,000โ14,000. Final quote depends on exact configuration, drive complement, and current-week secondary-market demand. Per-drive destruction performed regardless of buyback path โ every data-bearing drive runs through NIST 800-88 + IEEE 2883-2022.
Can Maxicom destroy individual SSDs and HDDs separately?
Yes. Per-drive destruction is the default for storage-array buyback engagements. Each drive carries its own row on the Certificate of Destruction with serial number, capacity, method (Purge for SSDs/NVMe, Clear or Destroy for HDDs depending on classification), and completion timestamp. Bulk per-drive destruction without buyback is also supported โ minimum lot tier typically 50 drives for cost-efficiency.
Where to sell used NetApp arrays in Canada?
Maxicom Canada. Indicative CAD residuals for NetApp: AFF A300 (24ร NVMe, dual controllers) C$8,000-18,000; FAS2750 hybrid C$2,500-6,000; FAS8300 mid-tier C$5,000-12,000; E2860 60-bay C$6,000-14,000. Final quote depends on exact configuration, drive complement, ONTAP version, and current-week secondary-market demand. Per-drive destruction performed regardless of buyback path.
How much for used Dell EMC Unity storage in Canada?
Indicative CAD residuals: Unity XT 380F (all-flash) C$10,000-22,000; Unity 480 (mid-tier) C$5,000-11,000; older VNX 5400 C$2,500-6,000; PowerStore 1000T (recent generation) C$15,000-35,000. Drive-complement spec (NVMe vs SAS SSD vs HDD vs hybrid) significantly affects the residual. Per-drive NIST 800-88 destruction (Purge for SSDs/NVMe, Clear or Destroy for HDDs depending on classification).
