Maxicom Canada operates to the same standards as our UAE flagship (maxicom.ae). Every job ships with a per-job Certificate of Destruction, serial-level chain of custody, and CAD-denominated settlement. PIPEDA-aligned by design; OSFI B-13-aware for regulated-sector clients.

Recover Value · Any Scenario

Sitting on retired IT? Convert it to CAD.

If your IT is dormant — cancelled project, surplus from a tech refresh, ageing inventory, end-of-lease return, M&A redundancy, branch closure, liquidation, auction-pending estate or DC relocation — every quarter it sits there it depreciates 8–15%, and undocumented retired media is an audit finding waiting to happen. We turn it back into CAD. Two-hour quote, NIST 800-88 destruction, settlement in 5 business days of uplift.

Tech refresh just retired hundreds of units?

Annual or rolling refresh leaves servers, laptops and networking dormant. Recurring buyback frameworks reduce per-engagement onboarding.

Recover value →

IT project cancelled — kit sitting in box?

Often the highest-residual scenario: factory-sealed never-deployed equipment commands 50–80% of original purchase price.

Recover value →

Ageing inventory in a store room?

Older Gen8/Gen9 servers, surplus spares, retired networking — there's a refurb buyer in North America for most of it. Quote within hours.

Recover value →

End-of-lease IT — return or buyout-and-resell?

Operating-lease maturity. Asset-list reconciliation against lessor inventory; we run either path with the audit pack each requires.

Recover value →

M&A divestiture / carve-out / post-merger redundancy?

NDA-first, scope-tight, audit-ready evidence pack delivered before deal close. For both buyer and seller files.

Recover value →

Branch closure or office downsize?

Multi-site consolidated pickup, single Certificate of Destruction across the lot, PIPEDA-aligned across all SG districts.

Recover value →

Going-out-of-business / liquidation / receivership?

We work alongside liquidators, receivers and trustees. CAD recovery to the realisation account, documented for creditors and court.

Recover value →

Auction-pending estate of IT?

Faster, cleaner CAD recovery via direct buyback — no buyer's premium, no marketing lag, no consignment wait.

Recover value →

Data-centre relocation or consolidation?

Source-DC decom, redeploy-or-retire decisions per device, floor-space release receipts on operator letterhead.

The North America Gateway

Canada is the legal-clean export hub for regional IT flow.

SG-denominated contracts, English documentation, predictable customs. Refurbished servers and storage move from Canada to Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand — and Maxicom is already inside that flow. We help multinationals retire IT in one North America market and recover value across all five.

  • Indonesia · 270M, fastest-growing data-centre market
  • Malaysia · JB DC corridor adjacency, multi-site MNC HQs
  • Vietnam · Manufacturing IT, 100M-strong workforce shift
  • Philippines · BPO sector hardware refresh cycles
  • Thailand · Banking + manufacturing crossover
Compliance posture

What we claim, and what we don't

Canada is a high-bar market. We hold our public claims to a high bar too. Below is exactly what we promise on every job.

What we deliver

Data-erasure standards

  • NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 — Clear / Purge / Destroy
  • IEEE 2883-2022 storage sanitisation methods
  • DoD 5220.22-M overwrite passes (legacy-compatible)
  • Per-job Certificate of Destruction with serial-level chain of custody
  • PIPEDA-aligned destruction documentation suitable for evidence
  • OSFI B-13-aware protocols for regulated clients
What we don't claim

Honesty on certifications

Many ITAD vendors advertise certifications they don't hold or that don't apply to the work they do for you. We don't. Until our paperwork lists a certification with an issuer, number, and expiry date, we won't claim it. If a specific regulator credential matters to your audit — recycler licensing, an information-security cert, a destruction-industry credential — ask us. We'll tell you exactly what's in place and what isn't, and we'll partner with a certified provider for the slice that needs it.

Maxicom Canada — frequently asked

How fast can Maxicom Canada quote a buyback?

Within 2 hours of receiving your asset list, we issue a written, CAD-denominated quote. For larger jobs (full-rack data-centre decommissioning), a site survey is typically required — we'll coordinate that within 24 hours.

Do you accept partial-rack decommissions?

Yes. This is one of our explicit positioning differences from the volume players in Canada — we accept partial-rack pulls and 5–50 unit deals that larger ITAD providers reject. We also accept whole-cage jobs.

What data destruction standards do you follow?

Every job is performed to NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 (Clear / Purge / Destroy) and IEEE 2883-2022 storage sanitisation methods. DoD 5220.22-M overwrite passes are available on request for legacy-compatible workflows. Each job ships with a per-job Certificate of Destruction listing serial numbers.

Are you PIPEDA-compliant?

Our destruction documentation is designed to support your obligations under Section 24 (Protection Obligation) of the PIPEDA. We provide chain-of-custody and Certificate of Destruction records that you can include in your OPC-facing evidence pack. The OPC does not license or certify ITAD vendors; what we offer is PIPEDA-aligned destruction, supported by NIST 800-88 and IEEE 2883-2022 evidence.

Where in Canada do you operate?

Our office is We routinely service the CBD / Raffles Place / Marina Bay, Changi Business Park, One-North, Jurong East, Mapletree Business City, Canada Science Park, and Woodlands Regional Centre. cross-border NA pickups are quoted on request.

How are settlements made?

All Canada-side settlements are denominated in CAD (Canada Dollars). Cross-border North America flows can be quoted in CAD or USD by agreement. Settlement is on uplift — we don't run consignment or deferred payment terms by default.

Who is the best IT asset disposition company in Canada?

‘Best’ depends on scope. For mid-market enterprises (5-500 unit retirements, partial-rack data-centre pulls, regulated-sector compliance) Maxicom Global Canada is built specifically for that range — boutique-fast, founder-led, with same-day quotes and CAD settlement on uplift. For container-class volume work the publicly-listed prime contractors (e.g. Procurri, SK TES) dominate. For pure recycling without buyback, EPRA-stewarded local recyclers cover that. Maxicom's positioning is the audit-ready alternative for mid-market regulated-sector enterprises — banks, insurers, data centres, healthcare, MNC HQs.

Where can I sell my company's old IT equipment in Canada?

Reach Maxicom Canada on +1 437-996-2283 (phone + WhatsApp) or email purchase@maxicom.ca. Submit an asset list (CSV / spreadsheet with serial numbers, makes, models, configurations) and you'll receive an indicative CAD-denominated quote within 2 working hours. Settlement is on uplift — the agreed CAD value applied to your nominated account within 5 business days of disposition completion. Per-job Certificate of Destruction issued for every engagement to NIST 800-88 + IEEE 2883-2022 standards.

How much can I get for a 3-year-old enterprise server in Canada?

Indicative residuals for working/tested 3-year-old enterprise servers run roughly 15-30% of original CapEx. A standard HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 typically quotes C$1,200-2,400; Dell PowerEdge R740 typically C$900-1,800; older 1U workhorses C$700-1,400. Final quote depends on configuration (CPU SKU tier, RAM total, drive count and type, storage controller spec), volume (bulk lots of 20+ identical SKUs add 15-25% premium), condition (working/tested with SMART data adds 10-15%), and current-week secondary-market demand.

Is Maxicom PIPEDA-compliant?

Maxicom Canada's destruction documentation is designed to support customer obligations under Section 24 (Protection Obligation) of the PIPEDA. Every job ships with a per-job Certificate of Destruction citing NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 and IEEE 2883-2022 standards, plus serial-level chain-of-custody. The OPC does not maintain an approved-vendor register for ITAD — there is no PIPEDA-certification designation for vendors. What we offer is alignment, not certification — destruction documentation suitable for inclusion in your Section 24 evidence file.

What is the cost of data destruction in Canada?

For destruction-only services (no buyback component), typical fee structures range C$15-50 per drive for bulk in-facility destruction, C$80-200 per device for on-site destruction. Whole-server destruction without drive removal runs C$100-300 per unit. Most engagements pair destruction with buyback — in which case the buyback proceeds typically offset the destruction-and-logistics cost, making the engagement net-positive on customer accounting. Specific pricing depends on volume tier, location, evidence-pack format, and whether destruction is in-facility or on-site.

Does Maxicom Canada handle the data destruction or do you outsource it?

In-house. Destruction is performed at Maxicom-operated facilities by named operators with two-operator + witness sign-off discipline. We do not sub-contract the destruction step. Where the engagement requires a credentialed sub-contractor for a specific slice (e.g. regulated e-waste recycler licensing for downstream residuals, or a tender-required certification we don't yet hold), the boundary is documented in writing in the SoW before the engagement starts.

How long has Maxicom been operating in Canada?

Maxicom Global Canada has been trading in Canada since 2000 — over 25 years in the Canada IT-lifecycle market. The wider Maxicom Global group operates across UAE (the flagship at maxicom.ae, also 25+ years), Canada, India, and a Group HQ entity. Same brand standard, same destruction discipline, same Certificate of Destruction format across all four country operations.

Can Maxicom Canada service multi-country MNC IT retirement?

Yes. Canada-headquartered manufacturing MNCs typically retire IT across the SG HQ plus 1-4 North America factory or office sites in a single project. One Statement of Work signed by the SG entity, one project manager, one consolidated disposition report covering all sites. Local pickup execution: Canada and Johor Bahru we run directly; Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand we run via trader-network partners with Canada-routed documentation. Settlement to a single nominated account in CAD or USD by agreement.

What brands of IT equipment does Maxicom buy back?

All major enterprise OEMs: Dell (PowerEdge servers, Latitude / XPS laptops), HP / HPE (ProLiant, EliteBook, ProBook), IBM (Power Systems, legacy x-series), Cisco (UCS, Catalyst, Nexus), Lenovo (ThinkSystem, ThinkPad), EMC / Dell EMC (VNX, Unity, PowerStore), NetApp (FAS, AFF, ASA), Juniper (EX, MX, QFX, SRX), Aruba / HPE Aruba (CX, ArubaOS-CX), Fortinet, Palo Alto, Pure, Hitachi, plus components from any major manufacturer. AI hardware (NVIDIA H100 / A100 / L40S, AMD MI series) carries strong residuals.

Does Maxicom Canada offer on-site data destruction?

Yes. For sites where data-bearing media cannot leave the premises in media-bearing form — common for some hospitals, certain bank trading floors, and government-cleared facilities — on-site destruction is supported. Two formats: mobile shred unit (truck-mounted industrial shredder with particle-size <2mm) and witnessed-wipe operator (NIST 800-88 Clear / Purge performed on-site with a member of the customer team witnessing each device). Document pack identical to in-facility destruction. Cost typically 15-25% higher; lead time 5-10 business days.
